How can magnetic atoms in an STM be used to realize a multi-qubit quantum computer? This fascinating question was at the heart of a talk given by Dr. Soo-hyon Phark during his visit to our institute. He showed how coupled atomic spins can be addressed and manipulated using RF pulses, enabling the realization of logical operations at the atomic scale. Along the way, we were introduced to compelling concepts such as Wigner tomography. Beyond the talk itself, lively discussions — in the seminar room and out in the labs — made for a truly enriching exchange. We look forward to seeing where this work and ongoing collaborations will lead us.
