“Nature solves mathematical problems” - one of the things we learned in a very interesting talk Karl-Heinz Ernst gave during his visit on 20th of July. We gained insights into structures arising among chiral molecules on surfaces, studied with STM (Scanning Tunneling Microscopy). The combination of chirality in helical molecules and spin reveals astounding phenomena and questions regarding the potential of spin selectivity in the Van der Waals interaction show up
