Join us in the exploration of physics at the atomic scale!

As an experimental research group that runs state of the art scanning tunneling microscopes, we face many smaller and larger tasks and problems to be solved. As a HiWi you can become part of our research efforts and thereby gain many valuable insights into the workings of an experimental research group. A HiWi job in our group can set a good base for a thesis project in our group, as you begin to get familliar with our scanning tunneling microscopes and the spectrum of projects connecting to our capabilities of atomic scale experiments.
The possible HiWi jobs ranges over a large span:

  • general lab assistance
  • development of technical solutions and their implementation
  • programming of lab equipment for experiment control, data aquisition and data representation
  • assistance in our communication management
    • managing our website
    • social media
    • and more
  • tutor for excercise classes
